About This Project
Grace Lutheran Church of Bell is a bilingual congregation serving a multicultural community in Bell, California. They already had a website, but it was a thin, static page — it didn’t reflect the life of the church, and it cost more each year than it gave back.
They needed a redesign with real depth: pages that actually welcome visitors, a way to post upcoming events without waiting on anyone, a photo gallery for the life of the congregation, and a secure way to receive offerings online.
What We Built
A full redesign with deeper pages for visiting, beliefs, events, and community outreach
An events CMS so the church can publish services and gatherings on their own
A photo gallery that shows the congregation and its community life
Secure online giving through Stripe, set up on its discounted nonprofit rate
Migration off GoDaddy for hosting and donation processing
The Result
Yearly website costs cut by 48% — from $250 down to $130
Donation processing fees roughly 24% lower — from 2.9% + 30¢ to Stripe’s nonprofit rate of 2.2% + 30¢ — so more of every gift stays with the church
The congregation can update events and photos themselves, no developer required
